RIDE YOUR MOTORCYCLE, CAR OR TRUCK
TO BENEFIT MIAMI METRO ZOO FOR ITS 2008
THIRD ANNUAL “AMY’S RIDE FOR THE ANIMALS”
Dedicated to the memory of Amy Neill, former Senior Zookeeper at Miami
Metro Zoo
WHO: Miami Metro Zoo
WHAT: Third annual police-escorted ride from Amos Sports Grille (the old Fuddruckers)
at 7800 SW 104th Street to Miami Metro Zoo to help raise the $50,000 that was
needed for the special equipment that has been purchased for the giraffes at
the zoo.
More specifically, the Zoo is gathering funds to help pay for a custom-made
apparatus that was purchased to assist zookeepers in the routine animal checks
and in conducting medical evaluation in a safer and easier manner for both the
giraffes and the zookeepers.
A $20.00 donation per vehicle (up to two riders per vehicle) entitles registered participants with one free commemorative tee shirt per vehicle and free admission for up to two riders per vehicle to the Zoo on the day of the ride. Additional shirts are available for a $10.00 donation. There will also be snacks and Starbucks coffee provided free during registration and check-in at the old Fuddruckers. In addition, additional family members and friends who enter with registered participants will pay only $4.00 to visit the zoo instead of the normal $13.95 plus tax for adults.
Participants will enjoy special animal encounters in the Zoo’s Picnic Field, along with motorcycle displays and vendors who have sponsored the ride. There will also be a special Wildlife Show in the Zoo’s Amphitheater and a special Giraffe Zookeeper talk.
